Yellow needles #675532

Just planted a blue shag pine in my garden. I am keeping it watered and moist, but its needles are rapidly turning yellow and falling off. It does not look like the pine needle rust; rather clumps of needles are turning bright yellow and falling off.

Without a picture, it is difficult to assess the problem. These trees are susceptible to a number of problems as outlined in the following website. Please send pictures of the entire tree, a complete branch and a closeup of the needles that are just turning yellow next to healthy needles.

Because I can see no spots or partially colored needles or abnormalities, this appears to be seasonal needle drop. This is common on white pines. See: http://apps.extension.umn.edu/garden/diagnose/plant/evergreen/pine/needlesolderdiscolored.html
