Monstera plant with brown spots #675622
Asked September 26, 2020, 11:19 AM EDT
Hi; I am really from MN but live in Germany. MN is my home base for previous 38, years but I am a midwife for the US Army for 2 more years. I don’t know who to ask. I have a lovely large Monstera plant that is getting these yellow patches on the leaves and then they turn Biden and crispy. It gets light through a sheer curtain. I am trying not to water too frequently. I must be doing something wrong!

The following document addresses your question.
Our guess is that the plant needs a bit more water than it has been getting. However, as you know, too much water can produce similar symptoms.
You seem to have taken precautions needed to prevent too much sun exposure.
Excessive fertilizer or salt build up in the potting soil sometimes causes leaf burn.

You are all the best! I tried asking at the local plant store and amazingly enough they speak German, and I wasted my youth studying French. BTW, I don’t have Biden spots on my plant, I meant to write brown. Glad you were able to understand my request. Not that Biden is bad, he is a fine fellow, but not all over my plant. I prefer he stick with politics.
Have a great day, Kerry
