Hi there! I think we have a skunk nest or mamma skunk trying to build a nest in our backyard. It sprayed our dog. How do we remove the nest before it becomes a permanent home??

I have a large vegatable garden area that's has been fouled by feral neighborhood cats, it would be a nightmare to replace the soil. Is there any alternative to replacement?

Hello,  I have read about these varieties but cannot find seed for either of them.  Are these actual varieties or just immature heads from violetto types.  A seed source would be greatly appreciated.  Paul

I bought an elephant ear plant that was propagated from a 5 year old plant (very healthy plant, no pesticides ever used on it.) One of the leaves is curling over. The other 3 are great. What would be causing it?!  Its getting light (6 hrs) from a plant light. 

Hello! I started some sweet pea seeds a few weeks back and they’re all growing well, except 3 seedlings are branching before they grow their first leaves. They’re all different varieties and from different vendors. I’m reluctant to pinch because they don’t have leaves yet but I don’t know if this is detrimental to their growth. What’s causing this?

I have 7 acres of woods which appears to have been primarily populated with Ash trees. There are many maple some elm and oak and a lot of Red Pine as well. I have lost most of the Ash trees due to the emeral ash bore beatle. As these trees fall and I remove them, I would like to "re-forest" the property. I would like to keep it forested if possilble. Parts of the property can be swamping and there is a sand ridge that runs through the property as well. The house appears to be built on top of the sand ridge. So my question, would you recommend re-planting some more Ash trees, or will the ash bore just attack them, or are there other recommendations you would have? Also, I have some very large and likely very old maple trees near my house. Does MSU offer any arborist to inspect trees and would you recommend an arborist in the Saginaw, MI area that could let me know if the trees are healthy. We are considering the purchase of a small farm in coburg Oregon but have no farming experience. The 18 acres are currently leased to a local farmer who used Norton, roundup, banvel, 2-4-d. I am wondering what this means for the land and people living close to it. I am also wondering if you know how we could find a farmer who might be interested in leasing the land and doing some transitional crops.
