We recently received some tulips (in bloom) from a florist. They are in a shallow pot (5" deep) in some kind of growing medium. The flowers have died, the stems and leaves are still green. How can we save, store, and replant the bulbs from this point? It is January here in Maryland. I believe tulip bulbs are normally planted in the Autumn. Is there a way to chill and plant these bulbs in Sring?

I'd like to plant blueberries this spring. The easiest space I have to add raised beds is on the west side of the house. I keep reading that blueberries will tolerate afternoon shade, but will they do ok with morning shade and afternoon sun? Also, I was hoping to prepare the beds and plant this spring, but after reading a little more on the subject I probably should have prepared the beds last fall. Would it still be ok to prep beds and plant this spring? I got excited and already ordered plants (2 potted and 2 bare root to arrive in May) before I started reading planting guides. Should I plant them in pots this spring and transfer to the raised beds later?

I’m looking for a Lutowka cherry bush, but have not had much luck looking online. Do you know where I might be able to find one? Thanks!

We are looking to replace a line of 30+ year old blue spruce that have needle blight. We live on a busy intersection and wish to maintain the wind/noise/privacy screen they provide. We were considering plantains a line of new evergreens about 10 feet further behind them back toward the street (still 20-40 feet from the corner). Ideally we could let the blue spruce die naturally while the new line grows and matures, so we are hoping for a tree variety that won't pick up the blight nearby. Would it be better to chop down the existing trees and start fresh? The site is on a southern facing slope and has clay soil. What varietal stands a good choice of living there?

I have 6 small raised beds and have used actinovate to help control fungus both in ground and through leaves. Ground drench and foliar spray. There does not seem to be any supply of small amounts available (2 oz). Is there a problem? Large amounts at large prices exist. Is there a biological alternative?

I have white crust on top of soil that looks like some sort of salt. There are light blotches on the leaves. What ca I do to correct this?

Can you tell by this winter stalk what this plant is? During the COVID school closings, about a dozen of these have appeared around the paths to our local elementary school.
