I am following up on my previous post about this subject, as the previously posted message did not accept submissions any more due to site relocation to a new platform.
Attached are images of the dying tree showing signs of wilting. U MD horticultural experts indicated in their previous expert answer that it might be Verticillium wilt, but could not exactly diagnose based on the pictures.
The tree was cut off today. I am now attaching an image of the cross section with a dark brown center. Is this cross section view sufficient for a diagnosis? Otherwise, I can mail a sample of the center rotten wood. If a sample is required, please provide a mailing address.
